When it Rains, You Put on a Coat
The recent southwest monsoon rain which flooded the entire metro manila and surrounding provinces is now just part of the past. It took lives and sources of lives but it didn't wither the Filipino spirit. Our area was spared from worst cases of being a flood victim and I am thankful for that. During those times, I watched the news with my family and pray for the safety of our loved ones and countrymen who were affected by the flood. I have friends abroad who were worried about their family in those difficult time and all I can do is help them keep calm and update them on what is really going on in the Philippines. While we were watching the news, and simultaneously browsing on the twitter updates via my phone, I was amazed at how every Filipino give a helping hand to someone within their reach. I saw a lot of joyful givers.
They say that the Filipino spirit is "waterproof". And I couldn't agree more...all because everyone puts on a coat. A coat of charity, hope and love.
